R&D projects

One of the strategic goals of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa’s operations is to provide the Polish Armed Forces with the highest quality hardware and equipment that will enable the soldiers to discharge their duties and tasks effectively.

However, it is not just the increase in the defensive capabilities of armed forces resulting from modernisation programmes completed that ensures a state’s security. Increasing a country’s defence industry’s technological capabilities is also a long-lasting and far-reaching factor that increases the security of the state and its citizens.

As an initiator of innovative solutions for armed forces, PGZ’s actions do not only consist in performing high priority tasks associated with the Technical Modernisation Plan, but also monitoring and implementing new technological trends that will be shaping the global defence sector in the perspective of the next 10 to 20 years.

The companies that form the PGZ Group are involved in more than 150 research and development projects, carried out in co-operation with the military, industry, and scientific institutes, that subscribe to the changes we can already see today in the defence sector in the ways of using, among other things, unmanned and autonomous systems, robotics, C4ISR technologies (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), 3D printing technologies, cybertechnologies or energy weapons (lasers, electromagnetic radiation).

The systems delivered currently show great potential for further development, but PGZ Group companies offer the capabilities of modifying and modernising older equipment as well, so that it can be adapted to the requirements of modern battlefields.
